Fish Head Thila is a popular dive site and on many itineraries for Maldives liveaboards. You will likely see many whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks and an abundance of reef fish species. Fish Head’s alternative name Shark Thila took its name from when it was a shark fishing point.

Although, another story suggests that Fish Head was named by fisherman because most of the fish they reeled in came up with only the head, because sharks had taken the rest. Whereas another theory claims the rock at the centre of the pinnacle looks like a fish head.
